The Rev. Dennis N. Plourde was born
in Houlton, Maine and graduated from Brewer High School in Brewer,
Maine. He holds a B.A. from the University of Maine, a M. Div. degree
from Andover-Newton Theological School and a M.Litt from the University
of Stirling in Stirling, Scotland. Mr. Plourde is married to Diane
Nightengale Plourde and they have two sons, James and Chris,
one daughter-in-law, Laura and two grandsons, Logan and Taylor. Mr.
Plourde, an ordained American Baptist minister, served congregations in
Maine and New Hampshire and California before coming to Washington
State. He and Diane have also served as commissioned American Baptist
missionaries in the Philippines.
He is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor society. He has
been elected to local school boards and served on various call-volunteer
Fire Departments, serving as Deputy Chief for ten years. He has written
several articles for publication in the Philippines and is a contributor
to the book, Embracing the Future, published by Judson Press,
Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
His wife, Diane, has her B.F.A. & a M. Education from the
University of New Hampshire. She has taught in public schools in
New Hampshire, Massachusetts and California and served as an educational
consultant in the Philippines, teaching at the Convention Baptist Bible
College in Bacolod City. She is an illustrator with several
illustrations appearing in national publications and has held workshops
on the theme of Healing through the Arts. Her most recent workshop was
done at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California through its Brehm
Center. She will be leading workshops this summer, 2007, at the
American Baptist Women's Conference in Green Lake, Wisconsin.
